Cyber Security Bill Does Not Pass US Senate
Published On: August 6th, 2012 Filed Under: Uncategorized
A cyber security bill that aimed to create voluntary regulations on privately owned infrastructure like electrical utilities and chemical plants, and incentive to follow the voluntary regulations, has failed to pass the Senate. The 60 votes needed to end a Republican-led filibuster could not be reached as 52 voted to end debate and 46 voted against ending debate. Votes held pretty steady on party lines.
